Radiation therapy with or without surgery is an effective treatment for many non-melanoma skin cancers. It is especially desirable when the cancer is in a visible area (i.e. the face and arms) because it may offer a better cosmetic result than surgery. Radiation can also be used when melanoma skin cancer spreads to other parts of the body.
